The time a visitor to your website has to wait for the page to load completely can dramatically impact where your site features in Google’s search results. In my opinion, great content is more important than the loading speed, but I would act on anything you can do to gain an advantage over your competitors.
The page speed is also part of the user experience on your website. If a user has to wait several seconds for the page to load, then they are more likely to hit the back button and go elsewhere. Google wants to give its users the best possible service so displays accessible, well designed, well built, fast loading websites with excellent content at the top of its results.
Test your websites speed on both a mobile and a desktop using Google’s own PageSpeed Insights tool. It will mark your site out of 100 with a score of over 90 being excellent. My website currently scores 99, I’m yet to see a hundred.
