An online shop your customers trust, and you actually own.

Built on WooCommerce, so the products, the customers and the data stay yours and no platform takes a slice of every sale. One person designs it, builds it, tests it with real orders and shows you round the admin before the first stranger pays.

  • Online shops from £4,800
  • First order in about six weeks
  • 30 days of fixes, then care from £87 a month
  • A fixed price and a launch date, both in writing before any work begins. Bring your own words and photographs, or have me handle them and I’ll quote that to the job.

Order summary

The complete online shop, as it goes in writing before any work begins

  1. Bespoke shop design

Storefront, product pages, basket and checkout, designed around your products and the people buying them, on the phone first because that is where most orders start.

    Included
  2. Your products set up

Up to 50 products on a standard build, with categories, variations and the structured data that gets them into Google Shopping. Larger catalogues are quoted individually.

    Included
  3. Payments and checkout

Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, on a clean one-page checkout that keeps people moving to the end.

    Included
  4. Shipping and VAT

UK and international zones, weight or price based rules, Royal Mail, DPD or Parcelforce, and VAT handled automatically. All of it working on day one.

    Included
  5. Reviews, returns and delivery pages

Product reviews, a returns policy you can read in a minute, delivery information and the answers people want before they buy. Doubt is what empties baskets.

    Included
  6. Search built in

Product schema, a sitemap, fast pages, optimised images and internal links, so a long, specific search finds your shop rather than a marketplace.

    Included
  7. Order and basket emails

Order confirmations, shipping updates and abandoned-basket emails that look like your brand, connected to Mailchimp, Klaviyo or whatever you already use.

    Included
  8. Test orders before anyone else sees it

Real test orders, a refund, a return and a deliberate failure, all before launch, so the first stranger to hand over a card is not the first test.

    Included
  9. Training and a one-page guide

An hour walking through the admin, so you can add products, fulfil orders and refund a customer without a panic, plus a guide for the jobs that come up most.

    Included
  10. Thirty days of fixes after launch

Anything that needs adjusting in the first month is on me. After that, most shops sit on a care plan from £87 a month.

    Included
Your words and photographs
Bring your own, or have me handle them and I quote that to the job, so you only pay for what you need.
Monthly platform fee
None. The shop, the data and the customers are yours outright.
Delivery
The first live order, about six weeks after the first call. The date goes in writing alongside the price.
Total
from £4,800Fixed in writing before any work begins. If the scope changes, the new price is agreed in writing before the extra work happens.

If you sell something unusual, say so on the call. The interesting problems usually live in shipping and stock. Shop already live somewhere else? Email me the address and I’ll come back with a migration estimate, usually the same day.

Two shops, built the way yours would be.

A post-surgery bra and a florist in Ely: different customers, the same care over the details that earn their trust.

Reco Heart

A WooCommerce shop for a post-surgery bra, on a bespoke theme that replaced a page-builder template. A page for each operation, a proper sizing guide and VAT relief built into the checkout, because in a shop like this the details are what earn a customer’s trust.

Flora Laura Flowers

Website and online shop for a florist in Ely, with a flower trug where the basket would be, and a shop that looks like the flowers rather than like a plugin.

Six weeks to order no. 1.

Fixed price and launch date, both in writing before we start. A shop has more moving parts than a brochure site, so the build is longer and the testing more thorough.

The line is drawn to scale, from the first call to the first live order. Most small shops take theirs about six weeks after the discovery call.

  1. Discover and plan

    Week 1

A free thirty-minute call about what you sell, how you ship it and how you take payment. Then a written proposal: the price, the launch date and what I’ll need from you. Sign it or sleep on it.

  2. Design and build

    Weeks 2 to 5

Product pages, basket, checkout, account area and the emails, designed for the phone first and built against your real products. Then payments, shipping, VAT and search, with a check-in every week so you watch the shop appear rather than receive it in one final email.

  3. Test and launch

    Week 6

Test orders, a refund, a return and a deliberate failure, before anyone else sees it. Then we go live together and the first order arrives.

Then order no. 1, and every one after it, lands in your inbox and in your own database, with nobody taking a slice.

Before you open the shop.

The questions that come up on almost every first call about an online shop, including the awkward ones about Shopify and what happens after launch. If yours isn’t here, send it across and I’ll answer plainly.

How much does an online shop cost?
Online shops start at £4,800, designed and built around your own words and photographs, depending on how many products you have and what needs connecting to what. If you’d rather I handled the research, the words and the photography as well, I quote that to the job, so you only pay for what you need. Each is a starting price, fixed in writing before any work begins, and if the scope changes, the new price is agreed in writing before the extra work happens. There’s no monthly platform fee afterwards, just a care plan from £87 a month.
Why WooCommerce rather than Shopify?
Shopify is a good choice if you want to be selling tomorrow and are happy paying a slice of every sale for as long as the shop exists. WooCommerce suits you better if you want a bespoke storefront, your own customer data in your own database, and a platform you own outright. If Shopify is the right fit for you, I’ll say so and point you to a Shopify specialist.
Can you move my existing shop across?
Yes. Moves from Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, BigCommerce or an older WooCommerce setup are common. Products, customers, order history, redirects and search rankings all come with you. Migrations are quoted separately, and usually run quicker than a new build.
How long until I take my first order?
About six weeks from the discovery call to the first live order. The launch date goes in writing alongside the price before we start, and I plan the work backwards from it.
Do you handle the photography?
Product photos do more for sales than almost anything else, so yes, it can be arranged with a Cambridgeshire product photographer I work with. If you would rather shoot your own, I’ll tell you exactly which shots to take before you start.
What happens after launch?
Every shop comes with 30 days of fixes and tweaks included. After that most shops sit on a care plan: from £87 a month for hosting, backups, security, updates and content changes, or the e-commerce plan from £147 a month, which adds payment-gateway monitoring, weekly database optimisation and priority support. Bigger improvements are quoted as small projects.

Tell me what you sell.

Thirty minutes on a call, or a few lines in the form. Tell me what you sell, where you sell it now and what is getting in the way. If I can help, I’ll say how and what it costs: a fixed price, in writing. If Shopify or a marketplace would serve you better, I’ll say that too.

Tell me about your shop.

A few lines is plenty: what you sell, roughly how many products, and what is frustrating you about selling online now. No jargon required. I read every message myself.

Your message comes straight to me, and your details are used only to reply to it, never added to a list or passed on.
